KARIBU is a Swahili word meaning
"welcome". The following are information for all participants on your
arrival to Tanzania;
For those who will arrive by flight. You should inform us about their
expected date of arrival. There will be buses to pick you from the Dar
es Salaam International Airport to the University of Dar es Salaam at
the date of arrival.
For those who will arrive by bus. You should drop at the Ubungo Bus Terminal
(The Main Bus Terminal in The City). From the bus terminal you can hire
a Taxi to the University of Dar es Salaam Main Campus. The Taxi fair is
3000 Tanzanian Shillings (Approximately USD 2.5).
This year's event will take place between 7th to 13th August 2006 , inclusive arrival and departure dates. From the 11st to 12th August 2006 the organizing committee will co-ordinate with interested participants who will wish to have private trips to various tourist attractions in the country, as local students and not tourists.
It must be reflected that ISWT 2006 is not only concerned with academic matters, but a number of social programs will be given priority through out the week. Most events will be hosted in Dar es Salaam where there is almost everything for everyone, the week begins with an opening part on Monday and accompanied by African, American, Asia and European nights. Disco, concerts, talent shows and closing parties featuring the whole week. Cultural dressing is also on the activities' menu.
Trips and tours are the perfect way to end our week, and give you the opportunity to see the natural attractions of our nation and take home some unforgettable memories.
