GRATIS VISAS PROCESSING AT FINAL STAGE!

Dear Foreign Participants,
The Organizing Committee has completed the procedures of processing gratis visas. We have not successfully secured gratis VISAS for our participants, thus participants will be required to pay USD 50 at the Airport entry point, however the list of participants will be available at the airport to easy this process. This implies that participants will be granted VISAS on arrival. View the attached doc from the Ministry of Home Affairs - Immigration Division.. Click Here

NOTE:

Participants from East and Central Africa will not be required to pay the above mentioned fee of USD 50.

For those participants who can not get out of your home countries unless you have aquired a VISA to Tanzania, you should inform us so that we can FAX/email immigration official documents to you.



REQUIREMENTS FOR PAPER PRESENTERS


  •        The presenter MUST be at least an undergraduate student from a recognizable institution
  •        The presenter might/might NOT be a successfully selected applicant
  •        The presenter MUST be fluent in English
  •        The presenter MUST have prepared the presentation by him/herself ie.competent in what (s)he is presenting
  •        The presenter MUST send along presentation(s) his/her Curriculum Vitae (C.V)/resume
  •        The presentation(s) MUST be in softcopy (hard copies will NOT be considered!)
  •        The presentation(s) MUST be in for of POWER POINT (other formats will NOT be considered!)
  •        The presentation(s) MUST be not more than 10 min long (max.20 slides!)
  •        The presentation(s) MUST  reach the Organising Committee NOT later than 1700hrs Friday,21st July 2006 via below e-addresses (Those sent earlier shall be given special consideration!)
  •        Submission of presentations on more than one subtopics is allowed
  •        Foreign participants are encouraged to submit their presentation(s)
       Only successful presenters shall be contacted

1.        The Role of Journalists (The Role of Media towards Global Communication and Development)
2.         Evaluation of HIV/AIDS after two decades of existence (Impact of HIV/AIDS and Malaria on World's Development)

CULTURAL NIGHTS

The Entertainment Subcommittee is urging all abroad participants to bring with them cultural materials that may be useful during cultural nights. These include audio/video cds (tapes), posters, attires, musical instruments, food, drinks, souvenirs, books etc portraying their customs and traditions. ISWT GETS ITS NEW MATRON AND PATRON

As from 31 March 2006 the ISWT 2006, Matron will be Hon. Gaudencia Kabaka (MP), the Deputy Minister of Science, Technology & Higher Education. She is very delighted to be the Matron. She is also hard working with good experiences in organizational stuffs. She is welcoming you to ISWT 2006 to make a difference as you enjoy the beauty of the country during your stay. Don't you dare miss meeting her smile at the event.

The ISWT 2006 has been blessed to have a Co-Matron and Patron. From Zanzibar Island, the Co- Matron who is coordinating the activities on the island to make Zanzibar share the effect from ISWT is Hon. Asha Abdulla Juma (MP), the Minister of Employment, Youth, Women and Children Development, Zanzibar. She will take you from the Stone Town to Ngomekongwe where you will see the Sultan's coffee cup, his bedroom as you try to learn the history of Zanzibar since Sultan's colonialship. She will make your stay in Zanzibar safer and more enjoyable.

The New Co-Patron is the Dar-es-Salaam Regional Commissioner, Hon.Yusufu Makamba as from April 10, 2006. He is looking forward to welcome you to Dar es Salaam.

Moreover, we have the good news for you that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism will offer ISWT participants free entry to the tourist sites that we will visit, so we are encouraging you to send your applications as soon as possible.
