ISWT (2006) theme
..............................................................................................................

The world has now turned into a small village where all basic aspects of life can be accessed from ones current location. Rather than being an unstoppable force for development, globalization seems now more like an economic temptress promising riches to everyone but only delivery to the few. Although global average per capita income rose strongly throughout the 20th century, the income gap between the rich and poor countries has been widening for many decades.

In addition, the dramatic technological, social and cultural changes taking place are perceived differently in various countries and no matter the perception, there are neither application forms nor visas to enter into the global world, you will just find your way in there. As a result, states are no longer fighting to escape from it because there is no way to go, but rather to survive with the maximum exploitation of the available priorities. Now since low-income countries are the ones that have not been able to integrate with the global economy as quickly as others, partly because of their chosen policies and partly because of factors outside their control: marginalization, unemployment, protectionist measures from rich industrialized countries, the question is, who benefits where? And to answer this we came up with the theme: "Globalization towards Equal and Sustainable World Benefit"
