Climate
The climate is warm and humid in the coastal regions. Dar es salaam, being in a tropical region and bordering the Indian Ocean, is thus hot with occasional rains. Temperature ranges from 25°C to 33°C, you are therefore advised to come with light clothes. A pair of sports clothes may also be needed especially for the beach football and for those who prefer swimming.

Tanzanian Shillings (Tshs)
Notes are in denominations of Tshs 10,000; 5,000; 2,000; 1000 and 500. Coins are in demominations of Tshs 200; 100; 50; 20 and 10. Money may be exchanged at authorised dealers or bureau de change. (Current exchange rate: 1 US $ - Tshs 1,160 (approx).

Language
Kiswahili is the official language, but English is widely spoken. Official language of ISWT is English.

Followers of Islam, Christianity and Hinduism live here together in perfect harmony.
People
Tanzanians are warm, friendly and hospitable people. The population is made up of mixed Bantu tribes. There are more than 129 recognised tribes.
